Actress Mira Sorvino Calls for Action on Pimps, Buying Sex to End Trafficking

Mira Sorvino, Hollywood actress and U.N. Goodwill Ambassador to Combat Human Trafficking, argues that demand for commercial sex drives the global exploitation of marginalized groups through sex trafficking. To end sex trafficking, she calls for more accountability for pimps and the men buying sex, and support for the Nordic Model. The Nordic, or Equality Model, decriminalizes people sold for sex but criminalizes pimps and buyers. The UN International Labor Organization estimates there are 4.8 million victims of sex trafficking around the world.
