Don’t Call Victims of Sex Trafficking ‘Young Women’

Demand Abolition’s Founder and Chair Swanee Hunt calls for a literal “act of Congress” in her op-ed, published today, in The Boston Globe.

Drawing from 22 trips she took to Eastern and Central Europe while serving as US Ambassador to Austria, Hunt notes parallels between the exploitation of girls she witnessed then and recent stories that have made headlines.

“The decade, the place, the names have changed, but the vulnerability of the girls and the power of the men have not.”
