“Jammin’ the Johns” in Phoenix

CEASE Phoenix Metro, with the City of Phoenix Human Trafficking Task Force, launched a successful law enforcement initiative targeting would-be sex-buyers. Known as “Jammin’ the Johns,” the operation disrupts buyers responding to decoy ads by engaging them in conversations with law enforcement officers. They explain to the buyers how damaging the illegal sex industry is and warn them that police in the area are cracking down on buyers.

In less than a week, Arizona officers collected the contact info of almost 2,700 potential buyers, had 229 phone conversations, and sent more than 270 would-be sex buyers to a website educating them on the harms of the sex trade.
